Blue Resources Trust (BRT) aims to promote informed science based decision making to facilitate the conservation and sustainable use of marine resources, and to provide a platform for scientists to expand research in the Indian Ocean. BRT also carries out education and awareness projects and encourages the participation of local communities.

Simone is an underwater photographer based in Byron Bay, Australia. Keen diver and passionate about the sea, he loves to use his photography to help and support marine research and conservation projects. He is the main photographer supporting the Sharkwatch Arabia whale shark research project and has contributed his photography for the National Geographic Wild Arabia exhibition in the UAE. He is also a regular feature photographer for the Emirates Diving Association (EDA) magazine.

Dr. DAVID ROBINSON

David is a marine biologist born and raised in a small village outside of York in the United Kingdom. He studied marine biology for his undergraduate degree at the University of Liverpool and then completed his MSc in Biodiversity and Conservation at the University of Leeds. He spent over 10 years in Dubai, UAE working as the Assistant Curator of the Burj Al Arab Aquarium where he helped run the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project and managed various fish and shark breeding projects. His PhD at Heriot-Watt University focused on the ecology of whale sharks in the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. In his spare time, he can usually be found diving and trying to improve his underwater photography skills.
